What is ECAT?
ECAT (Engineering College Admission Test) is the Combined Entry Test conducted every year by the University of Engineering & Technology (UET), Lahore for admission to B.Sc. Engineering, B.Sc. Engineering Technology, B.Sc. Computer Science and BBA programs across UET Lahore, UET Taxila, BZU Multan (UCE&T), Islamia University Bahawalpur (UCE), NFC IE&FR Faisalabad, and a number of affiliated engineering colleges of Punjab.
The ECAT test is mandatory for every candidate seeking admission in engineering disciplines under the Punjab provincial quota and for reserved categories from other provinces. In 2026, ECAT is conducted as a computer-based test (CBT) across multiple centers, replacing the traditional paper-based format.
Every year more than 45,000 students apply for approximately 3,000 engineering seats in Punjab’s public-sector universities — making ECAT one of the most competitive engineering entry tests in Pakistan, alongside NUST NET, GIKI, FAST-NU, and NED Karachi.

ECAT Fall 2026 Phase 2 is the final registration cycle for Fall 2026 admissions at UET Lahore. Here are all the dates and deadlines you need:
About ECAT Phase 1 (already conducted)
ECAT Fall 2026 Phase 1 was conducted from 30 March – 3 April 2026, admit card issued on 26 March 2026, and results announced on 17 April 2026. Students who missed Phase 1 or want to improve their score can now register for Phase 2 — only the best of the two scores will be used for merit determination.

ECAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to apply online for ECAT 2026 and for UET Lahore admission, candidates must fulfil the following criteria.
Academic Qualification
- Passed F.Sc. Pre-Engineering (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) from a recognised Pakistani BISE board or an equivalent qualification such as A-Level, DAE (Diploma of Associate Engineer), IB Diploma, or American High School (12th Grade) certified by IBCC.
- For B.Sc. Computer Science & Engineering, City & Regional Planning and Architecture programs, Intermediate with Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science / Statistics is also accepted.
- Applicants must have obtained at least 60% marks in F.Sc. / A-Level / DAE (excluding Sports and Hifz-e-Quran marks).
- Applicants waiting for F.Sc. Part-II results may apply on Part-I basis, but must submit the complete result within 15 days of declaration.
Other Requirements
- Must have appeared in the ECAT entry test arranged by UET Lahore for the current academic session.
- Bonafide resident of the area from which admission is sought (domicile certificate required).
- Must meet the physical and eye-sight standards laid down in the UET Medical Certificate.
- No age restriction for Bachelor’s degree programs.
- At least 50% overall adjusted aggregate admission marks (F.Sc. + ECAT) for merit eligibility.

Registration 2026 & How to Apply Online
ECAT registration for 2026 is done entirely online through the official UET portal.
- Visit the ECAT portal: Go to ecat.uet.edu.pk and click “Apply Online”.
- Create your account with a valid CNIC, email address, and active mobile number.
- Fill the registration form with personal details, academic record (F.Sc. or equivalent), and subject combination.
- Generate challan for Rs. 3,000 (ECAT fee only) or Rs. 5,500 (combined ECAT + admission application for Spring 2026).
- Pay the fee at any HBL branch across Pakistan, or online via HBL Internet Banking / HBL Konnect app.
- Print your admit card from the portal on the date announced by UET (26 March 2026 for Fall 2026 cycle).
- Apply for admission separately at apply.uet.edu.pk and submit your discipline preferences.

ECAT Test Date 2026 — Phase 2
ECAT Fall 2026 Phase 2 will be conducted as a computer-based test from 16 June to 21 June 2026 across multiple UET-approved centers in Lahore, Taxila, Multan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta and Karachi.
Admit cards will be available for printing on the evening of 10 June 2026 from the official portal at ecat.uet.edu.pk, and must be brought to the test center along with a valid CNIC / B-form.
The test duration is 100 minutes, held in two-hour sessions across four time slots each day:
- Session 1: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
- Session 2: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Session 3: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Session 4: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Candidates are assigned a session and venue based on their admit card, which must be printed from ecat.uet.edu.pk before the test day along with a valid CNIC/B-form for identity verification.

ECAT Result 2026
The ECAT Fall 2026 Phase 2 result will be officially announced on 23 June 2026 on the UET Lahore ECAT portal. (Phase 1 results were announced earlier on 17 April 2026.) Candidates can check their individual ECAT Result 2026 by:

Best-of-Two Rule: If you attempted both Phase 1 and Phase 2, UET will consider the higher of your two scores for merit determination — there is no penalty for re-attempting.
After the ECAT result, candidates are required to submit their discipline preferences at apply.uet.edu.pk, expected to open in early July 2026. Merit lists for each category (Punjab open merit, Sindh, KPK, Balochistan, AJK, FATA, Female, Self-Finance, Overseas) are then displayed on the UET admission notice board and the institutional website.
UET Merit Calculation — 70 / 30 Formula
For F.Sc. / Intermediate candidates, the UET merit is calculated as:
A = (F.Sc. Marks + NCC + Hafiz-e-Quran) × 70 ÷ 1100
B = (ECAT Marks × 30) ÷ 400
Aggregate Admission % = A + B
A candidate with 60% F.Sc. marks and 56% ECAT marks would have aggregate = 42.00 + 16.80 = 58.80% (eligible).
- 70% weight → F.Sc. percentage (including NCC and Hafiz-e-Quran bonus)
- 30% weight → ECAT entry test score
- Hafiz-e-Quran bonus: up to 20 marks after oral test by Hifz Committee

ECAT 2026 eligibility requires candidates to have passed Intermediate (F.Sc. Pre-Engineering) with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry with a minimum of 60% marks from a BISE board of Pakistan or an equivalent qualification (A-Level, DAE, B.Sc.
